What is a 3D visualization?
A 3D visualization is the photoreal representation of an architecture or real estate project, computed from a three-dimensional model. Unlike technical drawings, it shows not just geometry but also material, light, mood and surroundings — making a building project tangible long before the first ground is broken. In Switzerland, 3D visualization is now a central building block at every stage of a construction project: from competition entries to permit applications and marketing on real estate portals.
3D visualization spans several complementary disciplines: architectural visualization as the umbrella term, exterior visualization for facade and context, interior visualization for rooms and materiality, real estate visualization for marketing and 360° tours for interactive experiences. Which mix is right for your project depends on the goal — building authority, sales, investor pitch or public participation procedure.
ArchVisual is the dedicated 3D visualization studio under the umbrella of Archify AG in Bern. While Archify operates as a generalist — CAD, building planning, 3D visualization — ArchVisual focuses exclusively on imagery: photoreal renderings, animations and tours in a consistent studio look. For full project planning, see archify.ch; all pure-visualization mandates run through archvisual.ch.
Our five 3D visualization disciplines
Every project has different needs: some require only a hero image for marketing, others a complete set with exterior, interior and 360° tour for the permit dossier. These are the five core disciplines we cover — each with its own deep-dive page covering workflow, examples and pricing.
Architectural visualization
The umbrella term for 3D representations of architecture projects — competitions, permits, investor pitches. Includes exterior, interior and context.
Learn moreReal estate visualization
3D renderings for homegate, newhome, Comparis, listings and sales brochures. Hero images that drive a click in 3 seconds.
Learn moreExterior visualization
Facades correctly embedded in their site, with vegetation and time-of-day mood. Pure rendering or photomontage on drone imagery — ideal for permits and competitions.
Learn moreInterior visualization
Spaces with material depth, lighting mood and furnishing. For interior architects, furniture makers, hospitality, retail and residential marketing.
Learn more360° virtual tour
Interactive panorama tours that lead buyers into your project straight from the browser or property portal. Built from CAD plans or 3D models, embeddable on any landing page.

What sets a specialist studio apart from a generalist?
In Switzerland, 3D visualization is delivered by two types of providers: generalists (CAD offices, architects, planners with visualization as a side service) and specialist studios (pure 3D shops without planning work). Both are legitimate — but the output differs because internal workflows and tool stacks are different.
At a generalist, visualization typically comes out of a Revit or ArchiCAD model built primarily for plan drawings. Materials, lighting, vegetation and post-production are usually done by team members who also work on plans. Upside: tight integration with planning, same data state. Downside: image quality limited to what the planning software allows — rarely studio-grade for competition or marketing hero shots.
At a specialist studio like ArchVisual, the model from the architect’s CAD plans or 3D model is translated into a dedicated rendering pipeline — with our own plant, material and figure library tuned for Switzerland. Lighting, post-production and image composition are core business, not side work. Upside: image quality at competition level. Downside: one extra workflow step (CAD → 3D rendering model), which we absorb seamlessly through our sister company archify.ch when we also handle planning.
For most Swiss building projects, a combination works best: generalist (e.g. archify.ch) for planning and CAD, specialist studio (archvisual.ch) for the final imagery. The model travels once between the two, the client has one data state and two specialist outputs.
Our workflow in three steps
Briefing & Grey Stage
We review plans, agree on framings and perspectives, define time of day and mood. You receive a Grey Stage draft (no materials or vegetation) for sign-off within 3 working days.
Materials, light & detail
Textures, lighting, vegetation and furnishing are developed. You receive a material check for sign-off before the final calculation starts.
Final rendering
High-resolution final calculation, post-production, retouching and figures. Delivery as 4K file with print and portal versions, full transfer of usage rights.
Transparent packages & pricing
A 3D visualization starts with us at CHF 490 per image. A typical full pack for a mid-size residential project — three exterior views, three interior views and a 360° tour — sits between CHF 4 500 and CHF 12 000, depending on project size, revision rounds and add-ons such as drone photomontage or animations.
All packages include two revision rounds, 4K resolution, ready-to-use print and portal versions, and full usage rights for marketing, permit applications and investor pitches. Time-of-day variants, animations and 360° tours add modularly because the 3D model only needs to be built once. Detailed packages and prices on the pricing table.
Why ArchVisual as your 3D visualization studio?
Pure visualization studio
We do exclusively 3D visualization — no planning on the side. Renderings are core business, with our own plant, furniture and figure library for Switzerland and a studio-grade rendering pipeline.
Swiss context
Studio in Bern, communication in DE/FR/EN. We know the requirements of Swiss building authorities, SIA standards, public participation procedures and the typical marketing channels such as homegate, newhome and Comparis.
Full discipline depth
Exterior, interior, animation, 360° tour — all from one studio with a consistent visual signature. No outsourcing between disciplines, no style break between hero shot and interior view.
